What do the clouds have against stargazers?

So I was very frustrated with my 10" dob for months after buying it (due to several shoddy laser collimators, I threw them away and got a cheshire, great decision) and I finally got it collimated and everything was beautiful that I looked at. That was 2 weeks ago, and I thought "you know what, I like this scope", I'm gonna try and use it every night. That was 2 weeks ago. I live in Los Angeles, which I don't think has had more then 10 days of clouds here in a LONG time. Now, I haven't been able to use the scope in 2+ weeks, now that I want to use it.

Are the clouds angry? Is it because we don't do the rain dance anymore? How does one practice for a rain dance anyway? If you practice, and you do it right, what are you even practicing for? (Thanks George Carlin).

It looks like my wife hanging the washing out has the same effect as purchasing new astro kit. today started nice and sunny, wife puts washing out, it the rains, and looks like cloud is in for a while.

My wife just says things without a care in the world, like:

"Oh isn't it a lovely day".

"Look the clouds have gone and the suns come out, it's going to be a nice night".

What a beautiful moon, have you seen it?"

Each time it either clouds over or rains.

I was thinking of hiring her out to the Saudi's. I'd be rich!!  :p

Two weeks without a clear night? I have not seen a clear night here in the last 5 weeks.
