Hi Every one, I have been busy the past 6 weeks, doing a belt

mod on the Eq6 mount then going straight to building my little

observatory.

With the traditional English weather to contend against and

work commitments I thought this is never going to get done.

A couple of things I have learnt building the roll off roof observatory

is its always going to cost you more than you planned and with just you building

it, it will chew into your down time like any thing.

so be prepared to spend a little more hard earned cash than anticipated and

unless you have someone giving you a hand with weather considerations

it will take much longer than you think.

Was it worth the blood sweat and tears (and money) ,absolutely don't know why I did

not do it sooner.

After work yesterday  evening I thought I would try and sort out the cable Management side of things,

when I went in it was cloudy, when I came out a hour

later I was just about to lock the door when It dawned on me there was not a cloud in the sky,

so done a rough Polar alignment, got the camera out and this is what I got.

 20 x 5minute subs, guided, using a Wo  zenithstar 71 ed f4.7 FL 334mm and   Qhy8l osc camera at -20 ontop of a Eq6

The other thing that became apparent is after levelling the pier the little level bubble on the mount was quite a way off from level

Thanks for looking Paul

Well done, it's a very nice looking obs and plenty of head room by the looks of it :)

I second your advice! When I built mine I soon waved good buy to my original budget, and it took at least twice as long as I thought. Multiply both budget and time by 2 then add a bit :D

Really great first light image! :)
