Carl zeiss Jena 8X30 W, astro binocular?

I have the opportunity to buy very good price as a binocular old model  carl Zeiss Jena 8x30 W.
I would like to consult you if this model works well for wide-field astronomical observations, or otherwise is only good for ornithology.

As long as they are well collimated they will work for astro OK. These are very sharp in the central third of the field but do distort as you look to the outer third.

For regular serious astronomy I'd really recommend 50mm or 60mm objectives though..
