May 1, 2015: Fleeting H-alpha view

Managed a brief look at the sun with the SolarMax this afternoon at 17:00. The disk is dominated by the huge filament running across it. The new AR on the east is getting more prominent, and to its north a fair sized prom might herald another AR. The western limb is showing a lot of prominences, including a very nice arc. Short glimpse, but fun nonetheless.

Nice one, Michael. No joy here today, weekend forecast is not so good (yet again) but there's always hope they have it wrong. At least solar brekkie is possible here now, so if the weekends suck the weekdays can hopefully do better!
