Hi All I'm Anthony

After months of indecisiveness over which scope to start with, refractor, reflector etc..  I decided to go for the Skywatcher Explorer 200p, EQ5. Never used a scope previously so completely green however after spending time on youtube trying to pick up as many set up tips as possible I am  already chuffed with the results after only 4 or 5 attempts.

I've had fantastic views of the moon using the wide angled 25mm and and moon filter and also Jupiter and moons using the standard 2x barlow and 10mm eyepiece(although small). Hoping to meet some cool peeps and get further tips and advice to increasing my knowledge. Thanks

Hi Anthony,

Warm welcome to SGL. If you have not already done so download a planetarium program, plenty out there but try stellarium its great and free. To be found here :--- http://www.stellarium.org/ . Also a couple of books to help you round the sky are 'sky&telescope pocket star atlas' and 'turn left at orion'.

Thats a great scope to have too, it will give years of service. Congrats.

Hello Anthony welcome to the only place you'll need for all tips and advice for all things Astro!

If your after a good guide to help you through the night sky may I suggest you look up the book "Turn Left At Orion " It's a very popular and concise guide to help you know what to look for with your scope.
