This was taken over 2 nights, with 45 light frames of 300 second each, with a modified Canon 450D at ISO 800. The GSO Newtonian was wearing a Baader MPCC coma corrector and an Astronomik CLS light pollution filter. 18 darks, 32 flats, 24 bias. Tracked on the EQ6 with PHD2 off a CoStar on a TS OAG. Stacked in Iris, finished in PixInsight. One of the nights was exceptional in terms of focusing and guiding.

Hello Olly, I did go all severe on the black point but I am getting enough mottled sky as it is, I don't think this one had enough signal to really show any more outer arm detail. This was the first time I used custom-made masks for the Wavelet Sharpening (for the galaxies) and the SGBNR noise reduction (for background sky). I was quite impressed with the detail the scope picked up in the cores and inner arms, though. The "Blue Hamburger" in M66, in particular, (CXO J112016.8+125959), is showing quite well.
