Hay Dark Skies Festival

A few shots from last weekend. 8 of us from Heaton Park Astro went down to Hay and were lucky enough to get a partly clear Friday night and crystal clear Saturday night. These shots were taken at the festival's observing location at Hardwicke, 2 miles from Hay-on-Wye.

Venus over Hardwicke Church - 6D +Samyang 14mm. Diffraction spikes added especially to annoy the purists

MW rising, Cass in the middle and some HII regions. Modded 1100d at ISO3200 so very noisy, Samyang 14mm again. Sod's Law the only significant LP was from Hereford 15 miles away in the direction I was shooting.

I particularly like the way Mel111 has come out in the first one.
