PLEASE can someone tell me where i have gone wrong with this..

I have the SW200p pier mounted, have done polar alignment best i can, no problem there,

Purchased Astroeq around xmas time but have only just got round to actually setting it up,

Installed latest Ascom drivers, eqmod, Astroeq, CdC, Stellarium and stellarium scope,

Now everything seems to be ok it's all chit chatting to each other as it should be, everything is recognised including port it is using,

fire up CdC put all settings in, Lat/Long times ok open control panel connect scope set home position, pick a target hit slew,on screen it slews to target but scope in reality.....points East
now no matter what target i pick N,S,W it just points East

Do the same with Stellarium, everything connects but same problem, just points East

Ihave tried uninstalling and re installing twice?

deleted all config.ini files, resync encoders, reversed RA and DEC but still the same thing? totally confused and frustrated,

i don't really know what else to do other than sell it all, so i am hoping someone on here could please please point me in the right direction to what i have done wrong as i am sure this is just human error on my part and probably something quite simple and embarrasing that i have overlooked or done wrong?

are any of these settings wrong...

I had the same issues, where wherever I pointed the ota would point in the wrong direction, you need to reverse direction of either the RA or DEC drive...

Jem, I don't have the answer to your question (hope the Doctor's answer works), but do be aware that the photo you have attached reveals the location of you (and your equipment) - might be an idea to remove the image if the solution works. [i only picked up on this because I did exactly the same thing and someone pointed it out to me.]

1. What happens when you select an object to the East?

2. If you use the EQ5 hand-controller, how does it respond then?

Can you control the scope with the NSEW buttons? ie, does it slew when you press the buttons?

As frustrating as it is...... don't even contemplate packing it all in - I'm sure that with some help you can get to the bottom of the issue.

Right, here's what I have at the moment, Please excuse my terminology

Eq5 Handset that came with the motors

N takes Dec E

S takes Dec W

E takes RA c/w shaft E

W takes RA c/w shaft W

Fired up CdC

Target Mars...Dec goes East

Target M94...Dec goes West

Reversed Dec on M94 Dec still goes West

EQMod handset on pc

N takes Dec E

S takes Dec W

E takes RA c/w shaft W

W takes RA c/w shaft E

That's as far has I have got at the moment

Have checked that  cables definitely in right holes, unless it's wired wrong in the box but I can't see Tom having done that,

Hi all

have been having another play around with this, reset everything again

this time I re run Astroeq config utility and noticed on there was a check box to turn on/off RA/DEC reversal, now I can't say I noticed that the previous times  so I ticked this box and let it run through everything it needed to,

reset all data again and fired up Stellarium and Stellarium scope which struggles a little on my puny laptop (must upgrade)

Target: Capella ( basically because that's the farthest west I can see from my location due to my house)..wait a second and then off goes the crosshair YIPPEE everything seems to be moving in the right direction, when it finished slewing and it took a while, not the quickest is it, anyway it was in the general direction but not on target (but that was to be expected) but I was not concerned about that the main thing was it went the right way  anyway just to double check Park to home and select

Target: Merak, off we go and again everything goes right direction   I am so relieved that this is finally sorted

So it seems Dr_ ju_ju your diagnosis was correct about the reversal, thank you
