John Dobson, Keep your eyes open ..

Unfortunately I can't find the youtube video a lot on here have already seen showing John (John Dobson) showing the stars and moon to the public. I know theirs a link to it on the forum (James will know) but dare I say, the forums search option is somewhat lacking

I know the video I can't currently find is not ever so enlightening/fascinating to most on here, but it may be the case to those who have joined since it was first posted.

Anyway ..

This lovely clip made me think the following:

 

When the new & inquisitive ask us why do we like astronomy we need to remember to speak about it in the simplest terms like this.  Most people understand and respect their mother and father for the same reason as how John describes the respect for the Cosmos. It need not be a daunting and complicated prospect.   However I still need to pinch myself to gently remind of the origin of the iron in my blood.

If you know where it is posted online, then by all means link to it from SGL. But please don't upload to the SGL servers.

Cheers Ant, already had chat with John via p.m. its a bit ambiguous as nowhere has it for paid download so the only way to buy is a DVD from the states ... Assuming they still have them . The only links are torrents and they are bordering on being illegal so I think we'll draw a line under it , I will of course delete my copy (once I've watched it
