Poor Frame Rate Solved - might help others

Recommended Posts

Several people have been horrified at the very low (~1.7 FPS) frame rate I have been battling with.

I realised that USB1 was dropping the max speed of my lifecam to 10 FPS from 30. Preview was OK but I couldn't see where the other frames were going when I recorded. I tried defragging and making more space. With all this I could sometimes get a burst of better capture rate, but it would soon fall away.

Today the realisation - I had compression applied to all my documents, so I switched it off for the sharpcap folder and a test just now over 20 seconds dropped only a handful of frames. problems solved, and this could work for others with old computers who have turned on compression without realising the overhead of compressing.

Now, can anyone solve the cloud?
