Prom explosion

I have just witnessed the most incredible event in astronomy for myself yet... a rounded, triangular, solid shaped prom has just erupted shooting itself high up off the solar surface. Watching this in real time (almost) is unbelievable. Both scopes gave excellent presentations of this and I think that the prism diag has helped contrast out a fair bit. I hope some imager's caught this....

Nice one Gerry, its the most amazing sight when you actually catch one exploding  I had an hours observing this afternoon between the clouds but I think that's my lot for a few days

Congrats on that catch. I had no chance to see, let alone image any solar detail today (solid cloud). Glad others can still witness the drama on our nearest star
