It was a bargain so i couldnt resist! Im building a kit up from the start, got my ota and eyepieces now onto the mount! Can anyone suggest a good mount for the scope?

Idealy I want a mount that has a motor drive with it but not essential as long as I can add it after.⭐️

depends on what you have to spend and what you want to do with the scope.

I would suggest for observing a EQ5 which you can upgrade, or if you indend doing some imaging the HEQ5 as a minimum.

I'm sure others will have differing opinion/suggestions

From my reading of posts mounts have two load capacities visual and imaging. Imaging is way less than for visual use. I would guess that yes a mount might carry x weight but if it is at all wobbly or prone to vibration or wind instability you end up throwing some images taken away.

Enjoy your new telescope and good luck finding a mount for it, hope you will soon be sorted and out there

Agree with the above - EQ5 minimum for visual, but for imaging I would suggest EQ6 as the minimum - mainly because the tripods for EQ5 and HEQ5 are the same (someone correct me if I'm wrong  ) and as far as I'm concerned these are the weak links in Sky Watcher mount systems.

EQ5 for visual use and webcam planetary imaging.

HEQ5 probably the sweet spot in capability/value for money.

NEQ6 is where you want to be if imaging is a priority rather than an interesting distraction.

SkyWatcher bolts don't bend unless you apply too much pressure. You need to loosen one before tightening the other. I would rather bend a bolt than strip a thread!
