triton1
It doesn't,t fit.I recently purchased a sw swa 70* from the bay at a very good price, this was a 5mm to go with my 8 mm.In turn this was bought from FLo in mid February this year, the person actually sent the receipt with it so it not even three months old.The reason I bought it is it saves changing format from 1 1/4 to 2 inch.To my surprise it does not fit the 2 inch adapter it's too big.thinking I must be mad the digital verniers came out and yes it is.The 8mm came in at 50.67mm(just enough for clearance)the 5mm came in at 50.85 to 51.00 mm.Anyone got any ideas.the trouble being I already left positive feedback. Many thx Jonn. Chris
Sorry to hear this, do you have another adaptor you can try in case the one you have is towards the bottom limit of the tollerence? I know none of my scopes are close to being a tight squeeze with any of my 2" EP's, it's possible that the seller doesn't know there is a problem if their adaptor has a larger ID than yours.Maybe you can have a word with the seller, they might be good about it. If not I think you can possibly comment on feedback given on ebay. This would leave you having to sort the EP out your self. The only thing I can think of is to try a different adapter, if that doesn't work speak to someone with a lathe to take .3mm off the OD.Hope you get it sorted. triton1
And remove the chrome and buy a lathe,no This can,t be an option who would stick an ethos in a chuck might have a word with flo see if I can get advice must be manufacturing fault and hopefully still under guarantee with SW. triton1
All my other 2inch fit mint so wether it a pressed steel fault or to much chrome not sure.Checked eBay he sold it without much explanation but he was also selling a 150 Mak so it was probably to much power. This is how I got my last one from Flo. houston
My 8mm is the same. All other 2" fit in easily. It will go in with brut force but way too tight.

It's not an ethos is it? No, I wouldn't touch an ethos either. Probably not worth the risk with anything other than a cheapo EP.

Dave In Vermont
Can you find another lower barrel to screw into the EP? If so - it would fix the problem for practical purposes. But would be inconvenient if it was off another EP you planned on using that night.Clear Skies,Dave
triton1
I decided to email Steve on the best way to proceed so will wait for reply. The 2inch skirt on these eps are chromium plated so rubbing down is really not a option obviously a manufacturing defect.
