April 21, 2015: Some FIREWORKS on the EASTERN limb

Not to be outdone, the eastern limb produced a massive eruption (thanks to Solar_observer for the heads-up here:http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/242377-prom-eruption-now/#entry2631158). Managed to catch it with the SM-II 60. Not the quality of the SOlar Spectrum set-up, but quick enough to catch the eruption.

The first half was more spectacular Michael reaching far higher than the images here. Glad you got the other half though, beautiful images.

I did see part of the first half, it took some time to get the imaging rig out and up and running. By that time things were starting to die down a bit.

I real time it was fairly quick,im impressed the speed you solar imagers set up. I would be in a panic, tripping over things and dropping things trying to make sure i dont miss anything.

I had the mount and SM-60 outside already, so I only had to drag the laptop, ASI174 and 3x TeleXtender out.

Nice shots. Michael! What a display! As a beginner, I felt I was struggling today, so I was surprised to end up with this shot. Every new experience is an encouragement...

Cheers Luke. The SM60 sure gives nice detail, but I was struggling with focus. This is in part due to seeing, but certainly in part due to the much lower contrast compared to the APM80 + Solar-Spectrum set-up
