Bogey objects?

Does anyone else have imaging targets that always seem to frustrate them? When trying to get a run, everything goes wrong, but with other targets things go smoothly?

I've been trying to get images of the  Leo Triplet but have been frustrated by: Cloud, shortening darkness, dust on the camera, more  dust on the camera, even shorter dark, and now the guide camera playing up, just as I'd got rid of the dust. The images with doughnuts had brilliant guiding, some of the best I'd seen.

Yet imaging the Rosette Nebula, everything went smoothly, drift align near perfect, guiding great, images comeing in with sharp focus, no dust bunnies, etc. M42, simerlaly, even though my focus was a touch out in some of the early runs I learned a lot, and got a couple of nice-ish images.

But the Pacman, now, again just one damn thing after another. That had been my number one bogey until recently.

M27, my first real go at NB imaging, despite a learning curve there were no other problems, I learned a lot and managed some reasonable images, for a first-timer.

I guess I'm just letting off steem, but as I doubt I'll be imaging again until late August I may as well stick an eyepiece in a 'scope and do Lunar and planetary in the meantime. I wonder what will go wrong then?

One thing I have observed over many years, is that patience and perseverance play a big part in achieving that personal goal. There is one thing for sure, if you keep at it, you will win through in the end, the weather Gods can`t win all the time. can they ? :)
