Using a flattner for Solar work ?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am at the moment using a Quark with my APO, when I do 'normal' AP I use a flattner, now would this work also when doing solar imaging ?

Does using the DMK negate the need for the flattner as it's quite a small fov ?

I mainly use a 0.5FR so will this also make a difference ?

thanks for any advice with this.

The tele-centric lens in the Quark should act as a flattener, so more flattening not required. Focal reduction can be used to get more of the surface on the chip.

Thanks Michael, I only thought about it today & thought it best I ask anyway.
