Markarian's Chain - first light

Recommended Posts

Spurred on by Olly's remarkable version here, I decided that Markarian was going to be first light for my new QSI 6120.

By the time I got all the kit sorted it was really too late to start, and my adaptor to the Pentax 300 lens is sloppy and was showing appreciable sag, it's going to be reworked.

Anyway, those are my excuses out the way  .

QSI 6120 through Pentax 300 f4 ed with Astrodon filters, on AZ-EQ6

30x 200 sec L, 10 x 30 sec each RGB binned x2

Lights and bias only

SGP and PHD for acquisition, PI and Photoshop for processing

Now if I only had Olly's skies (and talent and experience and skill :p )

Thanks all for the likes on this one. Here's last night's version with the new adaptor, a bit sharper I think.

Can anybody tell me if there's much IFN in this region, there's certainly something happening in the background.

There's something strange happening with the stars, will need more investigation
