Astrovid StellaCam II?

I am wondering if anyone out there is familiar with one of these? As in: Know how it's best set-up and used. A manual, maybe?

I was going through a last bag of my astro-gear and ran into this. It's brand-new and never got around to it. I thought it would make for a nice "time-capsule" I guess.....As it somehow managed to slip under my radar. Been looking about on the web for info. Thus far I was able to find out it's an excellent little cam. People seem to rave over them. And they came out of Adirondack Video Astronomy which was just across Lake Champlain from me. They went out-of-business a few years ago. Too bad. I used to get some wild and wonderful gadgets from them.

So if you have any ideas or questions, please roll them on in!

Hello Dave.

I have a StellaCam11 and two StellaCam111's. They are great mono video cameras, what I particularly like about them is their ease of use and no on screen menus to spoil the view whilst experimenting with settings. The model 11 has a maximum of 256 integrations whereas the 111 has theoretically  infinite integrations but of course limited ultimately by conditions and telescope drive accuracy. Best results are with fast focal ratios, I used a 12" SCT with a 3,3 focal reducer providing outstanding DSO images without any post processing. Well worth giving it a try. (I also have an Astrovid2000 from the same supplier)

Well Peter, it looks like it's down to just the two of us. So I'll just play with it, as time permits, and see what I can do.

Oddly enough, I was just considering getting a monochromatic video-cam. And then I ran into this in a bag of astro-gear I'd set aside before I moved. I wonder what I should think about next.....:evil: .....
