BST 3.2 mm on Jupiter tonight

Got a new BST 3.2 mm Starguider today for my Skywatcher 120ed

Wow great views of Jupiter.....

Hi Paul.

X281 will give you a good image scale. What time did you observe and did you sketch what you saw?

I made an observation of Jupiter early on this evening while it was still daylight. The contrast was low and it seemed like a front was coming in as the atmosphere was quite turbulent. I made a sketch but couldn't take advantage of high power due to the conditions.

I just wanted to try out my new ep and skies were very clear at dusk

So i popped the gear out for 2 hours to test the Ep on Jupiter

Also waiting for a televue 20 mm  Plossl to arrive soon i hope

May I just ask what scope was this?

It's those purple rings that make it good. :grin:

Now half the people will think I am referring to CA.

They do look good.

Those eyepieces are "annoying", they perform well, look good and are not expensive. :grin:

As I wrote "purple rings" I thought everyone will think "CA ??"

Thats a great result from a great scope. Personally I find 150x - 200x consistently gives the best results, ie: sharpest and most detail, on Jupiter most of the time with my ED120. On occasional nights of excellent seeing I have used 257x on Jupiter but generally I feel the quality of the view improves at lower magnfications even though the image scale reduces.
