No, that's bass-ackwards, it was 30hrs 42min before New. (Brother!)

Cool. I don't think I've ever seen that old a Moon, my best young Moon was about as thin as that second picture, around 29hrs from New Moon.

To shoot the young Moon near that age I would have to take a drive east to get away from my western foothills. I may do that some time.
