Melotte 20 in 10x50 binoculars

wow..what a beautiful sight and I wasnt even looking for it..I just happened to focus on the brightest star in Perseus and my whole field of view was filled with sparking stars on a black background..FOV is about 4 degrees a real big loose open cluster..A nice object to put in the logbook..

A beautiful sight indeed,and of course,binoculars are the best way to appreciate it, in my opinion.

It is a *beautiful* group isn't it? I too found it by accident last summer while scanning around with bins, didn't know it even had a classification (and thanks Avtar for enlightening me back then). I now look for it every time I'm out... One of my go-to favourites
