eqmod...port not available

I've reset a win7 laptop back to factory settings, installed eqmod/ascom and when I try to connect via toolbox, I just get port not available. I've done this on 3-4 other computers so I'm at a loss as to what i'm doing wrong....any tips :)

Sounds like the port you need has been re-assigned to some other device on your PC.

Look in Windows Device Manager for COM ports and see what's being used.

Then in EQmod select an unused port to run on.

If EQmod has to have a specific port, then go back to Device Manager and reassign the COM port of the device that is using the port you want to an unused number in Properties.
