That's a very nice set up, would you mind posting how you get on with how accurately you can get your setup to point at your chosen targets please? I struggle a bit with my C11 and that's quite a shorter focal length than you have there. I envy the views you'll get, it all looks seriously good fun :-)

I assume you meant the C8 in your signature. I have a C11 on an NEQ6 pro. the secret is accurate time, lat and Long and polar alignment and use the MAL MAZ polar alignment tool in the handset. If necessary use a Telrad (or any other RDF) on a bright target near where you are wanting to observe and do a local sync so it is accurate in that part of the sky.

Oh im sure there is a joke in here about the ancient Egyptians inventing/discovering astronomy, but for the life of me i cant think of one. Today i saw a banner outside of the local church which at a stretch was astronomy related. It said:

"Come join us and celebrate the rising of the Son". I guess it was a banner put up for Easter.

I wonder if the parish priest is a bit of a stargazer with a sense of humour or even a bit of an old hippie.

Made me chuckle and my comment is in no way meant to be offensive to anyone.
