corrector plate cleaning

I might have stupidly forgot to put my lens cap on when i last went out and only rellised when i went up to to the Obsy last week end....  

Needles to say it was covered in cob webs, dust and water marks, i blow the dust and webs off with a hairdryer then gently went over it with a microfiber cloth.

Can i use a camera lens cleaning fluid to clean it up nicely like tthis one?
