damnut
Hi Hamey,Welcome to SGL. You are in our favourite part of the known universe. If you are on Male, the light pollution will be awful. If on the outlying islands you have the dark skies.I know everyhing has to be imported so start off with bino's. A couple of books to get you going 'turn left at orion' and 'sky&telescope pocket star atlas'. These will help guide you round the sky. Download a planetarium program, plenty out there but try Stellarium. Its great and free to be found here :-- http://www.stellarium.org/ ...Just post questions in the sections of the forum. glowjet
Hi Hamey and welcome to SGL, the forum is a mine of information for you to use, make your initial inquiries in the relevant sub sections of the forum. If you do not know where to start, many members, new to the hobby, often start with a modest pair of binoculars in sizes 7x50 or 10x50. With these, together with basic star maps and a red torch, you can begin your journey in learning to find your way about the night sky, a Planisphere may also be another helpful devise you may wish purchase. Certain very popular books like "Turn Left at Orion" can follow, as you begin to find your feet. Enjoy your Astronomy
