HEQ5 pro motherboard

Hello,

How easy is it to change the HEQ5 pro mother board. Is it simply a matter of removing the motors, and the attached cables. Then I imagine there must be a set of screws holding the board down, - i hope these are easy to access. Also when doing this should I not be touching the electronic componets with my hands ? - As you have probably guessed I will be doing this fairly soon to fix my mount, - happy removing the motors as I have done that before for the belt mod, but never touched the motherboard (which is currently fried).

Thanks

Alistair

You should be ok touching the board. Some would say that you should be "grounded" or use an anti static strap/mat. But with 30 years in electronic industry I've not often had to do this.

The best thing to do is label/ make note of wiring or even better take a photo during each stage for reference.

Good luck.

Hello,

It is really easy to change, I did it this week, unfortunately for me the main motherboard wasn't the problem. You do need to remove the motors to get to the two retaining screws but all the cables will only go in one place, all the plugs are different sizes EXCEPT the motor ones which are the same.

Regards

Ian
