M61

Hi.

Taken last night,this is a widefield image of M61 in Virgo.

Taken with an ED72 and a HX916 ccd.

15x600 secs in RGB only.

A few other Galaxies can be seen dotted around the image.

Calibrated with Darks and Flats.

Finished in Photo=Shop.

I think I will be leaving this section after many happy yrs,but I feel as if this site is looking for National Gallery images,and that's not really what I set out to do,although I myself do like to see them.

Great capture! That's one I haven't seen before.

I know what you are saying Mick, the talent on this forum can make me over critical of my own hard earned images

This site needs all abilities to post and receive encouragement to spur on the passion, I have found it can be quite disheartening to spend hours imaging and processing to reive little or no feedback.

There are some amazingly helpful people on this forum and I am grateful for all the advice and information I have gleaned here however I am not a frequent visitor as it's normally cloudy here

nice shot,don't understand the "national gallery" bit though

i think all captures are great,and helps newcomers see whats achievable with your equipment

maybe helps them decide on purchases

i wouldn't give up posting if i were you,sure some shots on here are crackers..but you have to be crackers or over commited to

spend that amount of money to get those results

some have it some don't,im in the last camp...but happy
