jupiters moons

good evening my fellow gazers i have just been outside its a bit cloudy and windy here in Doncaster was just wondering i can only see 2 moons on the right hand side tonight is that right or am i missing some tonight because of wind and cloud cheers stephen

I find these two handy places to see what Jupiter is up to:

Cal Sky: if you go to "long table of contents" at the top, when this opens you'll see the planet column. Go down to Jupiter and look for number 2:Apparent View. Simply plug in your details, hours you wish to observe, size of Jupiter etc. You'll be able to see the movement of moons, GRS etc.

Jupiter 2: free software program which you can set up with ease and play around as you wish.

Usually you will only get 2, 3 or 4 visible.

They have a habit of hiding in front ot behind Jupiter. :mad:

Celestral mechanics tends to not concern itself with humanities observing requirements. :eek: :eek: :eek:
