Astromaster question

Yes - you can see many of the brighter objects with that scope. Jupiter is well within it's grasp and the Orion Nebula, Saturn, Pleiades, etc. But so much depends on the "seeing", how dark your observing site is, amount of moisture in the air, transparency, and many other factors. You'll eventually get a good feel of what a clear night is with respect to your scope.

Try viewing objects higher in the sky rather than nearer the horizon - there's less atmosphere to go through on a clear night. :)

Jupiter should be your first port of call, it's bright, high & unmissable at the moment. Face South and look up, you can't miss it. Glorious!

This is what you'll see at a fairly low power (Tuesday night, 20mm eyepiece in an 90mm astromaster refractor)
