Skywatcher Heritage 90 Virtuoso

Recommended Posts

Recently bought the Skywatcher Heritage 90 Virtuoso for my sons 9th Birthday and looking to improve upon the eyepieces supplied.

The telescope has a focal length of 1250mm and a primary mirror diameter of 90mm. It came with a 25mm super wide and 10mm eyepieces

The 25mm is ok but the 10mm is not good at all.

Would it benefit from a 2x Barlow and some better eyepieces?

Thanks

Similar to my etx90.

I use a 2x barlow with mine to great effect.

It means you don't lose the eye relief at higher magnifications and in theory, you can half the number of eye pieces you need.

I can manage an 8mm plossl quite comfortably, but I wouldn't want to go any smaller than that, some would say that even that is a bit tight, whilst others would completely disagree!

At nearly f14, it should be fairly forgiving on eye pieces.

If there are any Maxvisions still around, they would be well worth a look.

The Vixen NPLs get good reviews.

Also popular on here are the BSTs.
