Skywatcher AZEQ5-GT USB Port, what is it for?

Skywacher's new AZEQ5-GT mount comes with an integrated USB port. Anyone know what this is intended for?

Several folks have tried, and failed, to use EQMOD via this port so I assume this must either have another purpose entirely or runs a different serial protocol. EQMOD does work with the mount if connecting via the usual EQDIRECT or PC-Direct methods.

If owners of this mount type are proving to be thin on the ground at the moment perhaps someone from FLO would care to comment? FLO are apparenty stocking this mount and as USB port is promoted as a feature someone must surely have an idea how to use it.

The USB port is for firmware updates, the V4 handset doesn't have the socket for this, and also for mount control through a computer.

the v4 hand set use the same port as the GPS to update the firmware, and the mount for the motors firmware updates + remote control computer in the video.

That the USB interface is for a "remote control computer" is certainly what folks would assume/expect. However, it seems stange that Skywatcher fail to mention what software can actually achieve this. Surely they wouldn't be actively 'selling' a highly desirable feature on the basis of its future potential rather that what can actually be achieved today?
