Alignmaster Headaches

Hi. I've been trying to use alignmaster which seems like it should be a great program. However, One of the two stars in any pair is ALWAYS too low on my horizon, ie: lower than 25 degrees altitude. I've tried to edit the Sterne.txt file by adding stars and removing stars. I've even tried to eliminate all stars except for two that were well placed, forcing the program to use the stars that I wanted, but this was not allowed (no pair showed up as an option). Has anyone been able to work around this problem with the star pair choosing algorhythm? Thanks.

I gave up with it and now just use PHD2 Drift align

Same... i just rely on a very carefully aligned polarscope and ascoms polar align function now.

I also dropped Alignmaster in favour of the PHD2 Drift Align tool which for me works consistently well.

Thanks. Yes, I think I'll try PhD drift align. I've always done manual drift align but was looking for something a bit less time consuming.
