Last night's hits and misses..

Last night's bright full moon [97% phase] in the east was not the best time for DSOs but it's still possible !

Used my 30cm f/4 SCT + SX Lodestar-Cx2+SX s/w - no filters/darks or flats. Moonlight washes out colour except for very bright objects.

Mare Crisium/Marginis/Smythii in view on moon's west limb through strong libration.
[1ms exp = 1/1000s] with obsy roof blocking 90% of moonlight onto the scope to avoid exposure whiteout.

SEXTANS in SE
J1000+0220 gx field Sextans [150s exp] with ghosting moon nearby.  J1000+0220 = remotest known lensing gx @ 9BLY images - source gx [not quasar] @ 11.8BLY
but reportedly mag 25 so no hope of recording it moonlight or not !    Hubble pic inset.

LEPUS setting below Orion in SW..
Pretty pink planetary ic418 [5s exp] - m10.7[P] 12" diam c*=m10.1 pink = hydrogen emission
M79 globular [12s exp] setting into rooftops!
NGC 1954 galaxy field - very faint but hint of unusual outer bright ring - Sloan pic inset

ORION in SSW
M42                     [1s and 5s exps]
M43                     [10s exp]
NGC 2024 Flame [20s exp]
B33 Horsehead    [90s exp] - who eyeballs the HH under a full moon but it's still there for our cameras!

Have fun :police:

Nice collection. I like NGC 1954 and agree you've caught a hint of the ring. Is this classified as a ring galaxy? I wonder if it possible that we're seeing the after effects of a collision which just happens to be oriented face on to us. There are other so called empty ring galaxies in the Arp collection that are fascinating to look at. Apparently some of these rings contain multiple black holes.

Interesting point Martin re N1954 - I thought the Sloan pic [inset] looked a classic merger of a pair of galaxies with different axial alignments.  If, as it now seems, that blackholes are common to galaxies - perhaps even the essential 'seed' for their creation then multiple blackholes suggest multiple mergers - watch this space or watch the 'profession' space
