La Palma: good places to stargaze?

I'm hoping to spend a week in La Palma at the end of April. Anyone have suggestions as to good places to stay for dark skies? This is mainly a nice break for me and Mrs Neural rather than a dedicated stargazing trip, so 'in a hut on the volcano' is probably not what we're looking for...

Thanks!

Try the Princess Hotel and Spa. Well away from Santa Cruz and they run astronomy lectures using an 11"SCT etc. All inclusive is very good and if you hire a car you can reach all of designated Dark Sky Sights relatively handy.

Ensure you get up to the observatory at night. They won't let you drive in but there is a parking area from where it's about a 10 minute walk in. You could easily lug photography equipment up and it's the best views of the Galaxy in Europe

I loved the week we spent. Definitely going back!

There are many small houses / villas for rent on the island. I would suggest trying for one in the south of the island. Very picture-skew  and not many neighbours.

I stayed in a small house near El Paso. If I was going again, I'd probably try for somewhere further south and more secluded. Maybe around Tigalete.
