Startrails over lake Fichtelsee

Hello,

i came to astrophotography via "normal" photography. I like to do primarily landscapes and if the opportunity arises then starscapes.

This photo was taken in northern bavaria/germany and consists of 120 x 30s exposures with a Nikon D800 and a 14-24 lens.

I actually wanted to have polaris in the frame but my lens was not wide enough...

What a beautiful image - I adore the textures & colours on the wooden walkway, let alone the perfect framing of the startrails in the lake. Beautiful.

Thanks Ghostdance! Actually i illuminated the walkway with my IPad because it was a very dark night and the walkway would have turned out almost black.

Thanks Paul. I enjoyed my trip to Tenerife last year quite alot. Unfortunately i wasn`t infected with the astro virus back then, because the Teide area is a really awesome place for AP.  Luckily trips to Tenerife during summer season are really cheap (most travellers visit the island from october to march) which may allow me to do a short trip once i get a portable mount

I've been to Tenerife many times and have to suffer another trip there in 6 weeks

We haven't been up in Las Canadas for many years and never at night time. 

I don't ever drive abroad but I do dive in Tenerife. Scuba is what I spend most of my time there doing!

One of these days we'll get up there under the stars. No point in me taking a camera I'd just waste photons
