Pocket Sky Atlas

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I'm a beginner at this and i'm gaining more and more knowledge everyday but now it seems that I have hit a dead end. (My post might be in the wrong section)

The thing is that I would like to buy this Pocket Sky Atlas which has a big amount of information where things in the sky are located. It's just that then they write that "this a perfect companion for the medium big to big telescope". That classification confuses me. What category does my Evostar-80ED DS-PRO (OTA) telescope go in? Is it small, medium or big? And is there some books which show a lot of star locations that you would recommend, I live in Sweden if that's any help.

Best regards, Petri :-)

Hi Petri.

The Pocket Sky Atlas would be a great companion to your ED 80. Your scope would be classed as small but don't let that put you off buying the pocket atlas, its full of wonderful things that are in the range of your telescope. The trick to seeing many of the objects shown in the atlas is to observe, if possible, from a dark site. If you can't do that then try observing using a black hood over your scope to aid in your dark adaption.
