Get the Baader Solar Film from FLO (other vendors of solar filter material are available).  You're probably after the ND5 version which is the only one that's safe for visual.  If you're only doing photography you can get the ND3.8, but that is specifically for photography only as it doesn't filter strongly enough to be safe for your eyes.  The ND5 works fine for photography as well as visual if you want to use it for both.

I have such a filter that I made for my 127 Mak and it works very nicely.
