'Moody Montes' incl Rima Hyginus

Must have hit a nice patch of seeing....best one I have taken of the Montes. Not added info, as it would spoil the image (IMO). Rotated to landscape as my eye likes it this way. Put a comparison shot using the TAL lens after it, as Jarrod (JB80) and I were discussing the softness this can cause. obviously its pushing the focal length up, and causing us to under sample (or I think it is).

An using the barlow lens..a lot softer (and graininess...)

Steve, proper "wow" image, a tiny bit on the dark side but so much detail, i am amazed at the mountain shadows, very sharp indeed

That first one is stunning, I can totally see why you have left it. There is so much detail in that range.

Definitely a good time with the shadows too.

Nice shots both Steve, but on my monitor a lot of "graininess". I presume you were using wavelet slider 1 on this? If so I would hold back on it, or maybe see what a larger stack size looks like>

Cheers Nick. Was using linked wavelets, but perhaps pushed too far.  I was proving the second shot that the barlow was not really a good thing with an 8inch scope. in terms of stack size i was up at 2800 frames, but only stacked about 200 odd. will have a play with it see what I can do.

Nice images. Wavelets indeed pushed a touch too far. You might want to try Lucy-Richardson deconvolution instead. I find that works better on my lunar and solar shots (not on planets, though)
