Theophilus 26th Feb '15 from Burton on Trent

Radders

Only had a short imaging session last night but just processed this. I 'think' its Theophilus as my knowledge of the lunar surface isn't very good.

Captured with the CPC 800 and QHY5L-II. Stacked in AS2! Wavelets in R6

Thanks for the comments guys. I wouldn't worry too much Steve, your lunar images are superb!

I always seem to struggle processing Moon images. I use AS2! then Registax 6 for wavelets. They never seem pin sharp to me either.

LOL....no worries. I love this crater and its a really good image. It is always quite a tricky one in terms of exposure (IMO). Have you tried using PIPP first for the image stabilisation? also were you using a barlow? whenever I use the lens off the TAL it does soften the image.

Also focusers...have you been able to upgrade the stock one? Its the second best investment (after the scope ;-)) I have made.

Keep em coming.

I used a Revelation x2.5 barlow which is fab I must add, and a 640x480 region of interest. I did use PIPP to convert it from colour to monochrome. I used EZ Planetary for capture but I normally use Firecapture for lunar imaging.

Yes I've upgraded to focuser to a Feathertouch microfocuser which is simply stunning to use.
