first image of sun with astro zap solar filter

Purchased one of the these from first light optics in readiness for the eclipse. Gave it a quick go earlier on when a gap in the clouds appeared.

I used my eos 70d and had the filter attached to my 50-500 sigma lens.

Should I be able to pick sun spots up at this focal length today?

The sun is extremely quiet today.  Very little to see....

Thanks all, at least I didn't do anything wrong and obliterate the sunspots   Is it due to wake up any time soon?

you could if there were any great shot I need to make mine quickly! I've had the film since June last year and I still haven't done it!
