Hi im kinda new to this always loved looking to the sky stars moon and such im in portsmouth and just wondered where or if there is anyone or groups who get together to sky watch id be very interested in coming along.

Also get someone to remove your email from the post, usually not a great idea to advertise it and there are PM's internal to SGL for messages, even if you end up PM'ing your email to someone.

Welcome Richard. Going along to an astro group is definitely the way to go. You'll get an idea which particular aspects of astronomy appeal to you before investing in any equipment.

In the meantime, keep looking up and learning your way around the night sky.

There's a free download called "Stellarium" which many of us on here find invaluable.
