Tracking Temptations, 29th Jan

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Some shots with my grab and go non-tracking setup. I keep getting tempted to get a portable goto mount (FLO's sale on the NexStar SE mount has been on my mind!), but I think I'll stay undriven. The Merlin has been another temptation. Must resist! These shots are single tiles, I must try and join some tiles next time. Thanks for looking, Luke

Looks pretty good to me Luke

I used the SW Star Adventurer for portable solar while the Sun was too low from the obs'y, only with the ST80 so not much weight, found the tracking useful as no Sol Searcher so once I'd found the Sun it stayed found

Thanks, all!

Piero, even though I love imaging with my 120mm scope and Quark, the Tele Vue 60 is very close now to being my favourite scope. I love everything about it so much, and I can see why not many of them come up for sale second-hand. The funny thing is I didn't think we needed the 60mm scope that much, but my other half, Sarah, wanted to get one. We already had a 66mm scope that is very sharp and has a decent focuser. Sarah was right (this often happens!), this little scope is a work of genius.

Here's a piccy of it next to my Tele Vue 85. Now the Tele Vue 85 is not a big scope, but the 60...! We've since treated our Tele Vue 60 to a 1.25 inch Tele Vue diagonal.

One day I'd like to get hold of the Tele Vue 102 to add to the other two, that's my idea of a triplet
