Taurus Doubles

Just started a session on doubles in Taurus. Spent a while getting frozen in order to get my collimation spot on - it was worth it.

My first target was 7 Tau (STF412),  AB mag 6.6 + 6.9 at 0.7" and C 9.9 at 22.0". I got a really clean split of AB at x392 - what a start! A and B looked white and C blue.

A quick coffee then I'm out again. Lots more targets to go

A few others from tonight:

STF559 - a nice even pair, not too difficult.

β87 - secondary fainter then primary

30 Tau - my favourite of the night. Mag 5.1 and 9.8 at 9.2" - lovely at x73 with the 32mm Plössl

31 Tau - a toughie at 0.7", but still a clean split

47 Tau - at 5.1 and 7.3 at 1.3" looks good at x392

Saw a few more but didn't keep note. Altogether a good night

Sounds like a great night Michael. Will have a crack at some of those, particularly the sub arc second ones
