Beloptik UV/IR on KG3, TV 32mm Plossl

As I may be nearer to acquiring a Quark, I am testing a few pieces of equipment to ensure their compatibility. This includes a 90mm APO triplet f7, 120mm ED doublet f7.5, Beloptic UV/IR cut filter and the great 32mm TV plossl

Daystar informed me that a UV/IR cut filter would work as a mini ERF for the 90mm and 120mm fracs and they sell a compatible one themselves. I have on hand a VG Beloptik UV/IR cut filter made of KG3 glass & with Beloptiks coatings.  A quick note to Oliver at Beloptik confirmed that this filter could be used with the Quark/120mm as long as it was at least 120mm ahead of the focal plane.

Long story short here... I tried the UV/IR cut with my 120mm/wedge and it works very well, the filter housing was cool to the touch and there are no issues what so ever. My concern was that the KG3 absorbs IR, doesn't reflect it and because of this would it work safely in this application? For me it does with my Baader wedge and it produces no unwanted reflections.

I am now confident to use this as a mini ERF with my Quark.

I am also testing my scopes vs seeing conditions at the FL the Quark would produce and my new 32mmTV plossl works very well native. Nice and sharp, with fine granulation showing on the the solar disk. This EP is a winner, in white light anyway, it will be a mainstay for when seeing is below avg.

If buying a Quark, I would follow Daystars recommendations for the ERF, Sean was very helpful in conversation with me. Oliver @ Beloptik is great too-as always.
