Moon shot from iPhone.

Yeah was quite amazed by the pics from my phone!

Camera's on phones are getting pretty good now though, I have a normal digital camera and a couple of modded webcams I'm going to use to do some imaging so it'll be interesting to compare the results.

Unfortunately, I can't really splash out on a £400 DSLR at the moment, Holiday to pay for etc.. so I have to try and make do on the cheap!

The iphone pic is pretty spectacular, it'd be interesting to see if anyone has managed to image anything other than the moon with a phone

For some reason, I seem to struggle taking pics through my telescope with a phone. I can't seem to get the angle right. Nice pictures though, gets me in the mood to give it another go!

It is a bit of a pain to do as my phone auto adjusts to the light, I've now got an adapter that attaches so Im hoping to get a clear night so I can try it out!

It'd be good to see your results when you do try again!

Thanks for the replies and Some nice pics there! I have ordered a smartphone holder to attach to the scope so looking forward to playing around with that and going to look in the App Store to see if there is anything in their of use as one of the replies mentioned phone camera settings.

I thought I would have had a few eyebrows raised from the stargazing puritans by using my phone lol. Good to see I am not the only using a phone :)

Let us know if you find any decent apps!   like I said, the auto focus and brightness settings seems to go a bit crazy then eventually settle. The pics I put up were like my 15th attempt!

Found an app called nightcap pro on the iPhone which looks like it gives more control over darkness. Havnt tried it yet. Will let you know as soon as I can, although I'm no expert when it comes to cameras. I am using an iPhone 5s for the record. Not sure what the new one is like.
