Hey everyone.

Novice in the use of telescopes, bt not at observing the sky.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Recently got a F70076 telescope for xmas, haven't set it up yet as the Liverpool sky doesn't quite do it for me.

Planning on waiting until I visit newquay in March.

Can't wait to use it. I am aware images will be viewable upside down.

Apart from that, I don't know a great deal - yet (hopefully)!

Hi Floosie and welcome to SGL, if as you say, you have been observing the sky, why not try your scope on some popular targets, you may suffer from light pollution like the rest of us, but the sky won`t change in any way, even when visit Newquay, but you will see a lot more with better skies though, enjoy :)

Hello Floosie (interesting name havnt heard that for years) welcome to SGL. Don't wait too long to start observing there's always something to look at in the sky even if light pollution is not very good have aloof at the moon and Jupiter is around at the moment. Both capable of being seen from Liverpool. Good luck

Hi and welcome.

I don't know that particular telescope so have no specific advice.

No need to wait for dark skies though!

Jupiter is now in full glory and visible all night long. It's a great object for learning the ropes. Just don't push the magnification too high too quickly. Take time to focus and let your eyes and brain get familiar with the telescope view.

The longer you look the more you will see.

Good luck.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

The username is a nickname from friends from about 8-10 years ago. Haha.

I think the sky views ive seen from newquay have been better than what I experienced in Dubai (Sister lives there).

I have observed the moon here, I have good binoculars what my dad got me, but can't wait to see it much clearer.

Hopefully scopes aren't too hard to figure out :)

Thanks again
