Latest deep sky captures from the Orange Skies of Camberwell

Hi All,

A selection of 'video' captures from the murky skies of Camberwell London.

A rare clear night last night and an opportunity to have some fun with the Lodestar & Lodestar Live.

Towards the end of the evening also switched over to Mallincam Extreme.

After packing away the cameras spent some time at the eyepiece looking at some great double stars for old time sake including Castor & Kappa in Gemini, Regulus & Algieba in Leo and finally Xi-53 Ursae Majoris & Mizar & Alcor in Ursa Major.

A very satisfying session all round.

Thanks Martin - Yes the LP in London is dreadful, having to contend with it is one of the main reasons I started to get into EAA. Even the most prominent DS object are just a fuzzy blob through the eye piece at best from my location. At the moment I am using an Astronomik UHC filter but planning to have a go with HA soon.

Thanks also Richard - The Hubble Variable is probably my favourite also, not familiar with it until recently but it seems to respond well to this sort of viewing and comes out well using Lodestar / Lodestar Live.

Regards

Pat

Hi Pat - Great shots! I was in London last week and reminded of how bad the skies are. I imagine there's little chance of seeing any detail in most of these objects visually from Camberwell. Were you using any filters?

cheers Martin

Martin - like most things in life we enjoy a challenge - if it's easy why bother
