Reminds me I've never (gasp) looked at Polaris so your sketch will motivate me!

Can I ask about your seeing notes - what is B and Y umi? It's probably glaringly obvious but my brain has turned into a brick

Ghostdance. Beta Umi (Kochab) mag 2.07, Gamma Umi (Pherkad) mag 3 in the Little Dipper.

I use these as a reference to what I can see with the naked eye, my seeing conditions are usualy about this level.

I have never seen Zeta Umi mag 4.29 and Eta Umi mag 4.95 with the naked eye from my light polluted area.

Nice sketch..your light pollution is bad then...

Light pollution here is pretty bad, thats why I concentrate more on doubles but I can still get some decent views of DSOs through the 12" on some occasions.
