Clear Skies Diary S Wales 2015

The last two years have been running at @ 38% observable nights so about two and a half days for every week which is not so bad I guess - this obviously doesn't factor in the moon effect but as people enjoy both Luna and Planetary observing I don't think that should be a factor though it stops me in my tracks for sure. Same general guidelines as previous years- this is not a scientific study just my observations - mostly in my back garden in the Rhymnet Valley, sometimes in Newquay Cardigan and sometimes with the help of my mate Pete down in Cardiff but for the most part its a record of reasonable observing conditions in S Wales which qualify as 1 hour of observing time between the point it gets dark in the evening and midnight (unless I've gone to bed early) through the week - perhaps longer on the weekend or in the holidays. Being the third year this should now become a good indication of trends if the past two are anything to go by. I've a new weather station this year so more temp and weather related stats can be included which might be interesting. Anyhows- this build might take a few days to format in the web page and get uup and running but hopefully I'll get there by the weekend- if anyone has any suggestions on copying and pasting in from excel that would be much appreciated aswel lol.

It'll probably take me through the week to get back up to speed but I'll get there in the end. Looks interesting for the rest of the week though - possibility of snow in the Valleys tommorrow then torrential rain then a cool down to cold weather by the weekend- hopefully this may mean a period of clear skies after the rain which is usually good seeing conditiuons- might make an impromptu session on the weekend gotta feeling I'm not gonna make the weekend after yet again unfortunately.

Congratulations Gaz. I'll wipe the dust off the trophy and pop it in the post. I didn't want to win it again this year anyway..... Yeah right!

Well pretty much back up to speed apart from a few tweeks here and there - looks like the observing is going to be in short supply this week yet again but hopefully things will turn around soon - don't be afraid to guess this years observable nights - days or percentages doesn't matter - James seems to be our most consistent forecaster at the moment and has been within a few percentage points for the last two years tough Gaz did sneak in as current champ in a photo finish with James - not got a good feeling about 2015 at the moment so I've gone for a low 33% - lets hope I've got it wrong again.
