Jupiter nights at Sunderland ASTRO

Well or Jupiter nights were a great success. 25 scopes out with 260 visitors first night and 878 visitors second night. Despite large numbers (and creating our own traffic jam) the feedback from the public and astronomers were that it was a tremendous success.

There were too many people to mention who ensured it was the success it was. You all know who you are.

What was the best (for me) was creating our own "local group" with the North east societies all being there-thank you.

I went along with the girlfriend and our two boys and they all enjoyed it.

My boy liked seeing the Pleiades and the moon through the scopes. (He's six so it's a start.)

Michael got my two excited for a bag of chips as well so he owes me for that

I was genuinely surprised at the amount of traffic that had backed up to the A1231 but Everyone at the SAS and the Wildfowl Centre did a great job of organising it and all the folks I seen there looked like they were enjoying it.

Well done everyone involved.
